BCEX Review
What is BCEX?
BCEX is an exchange based in Hong Kong. It has been active since 2017.
Futures Exchange and DEX
BCEX also has a futures exchange and a decentralized exchange within the company group that BCEX belongs to. They also list a few other well-known names on their website as partners. We have not examined any further in what way BCEX have partnered with the following companies, but here they are:
No US-investors
But, unfortunately for US-investors, BCEX prohibits US-investors from trading on its exchange. Interested US-investors must therefore refer to any of the other top crypto exchanges available on the market. Luckily for them, they can easily use the Exchange Finder tool to find another cryptocurrency exchange similar to BCEX that does allow US-investors.
BCEX Trading View
Different exchanges have different trading views. And there is no “this overview is the best”-view. You should yourself determine which trading view that suits you the best. What the views normally have in common is that they all show the order book or at least part of the order book, a price chart of the chosen cryptocurrency and order history. They normally also have buy and sell-boxes. Before you choose an exchange, try to have a look at the trading view so that you can ascertain that it feels right to you. The below is a picture of the trading view at BCEX:
BCEX Fees
BCEX Trading fees
Every trade occurs between two parties: the maker, whose order exists on the order book prior to the trade, and the taker, who places the order that matches (or “takes”) the maker’s order. Makers make the liquidity in a market and takers remove this liquidity by matching makers’ orders with their own.
BCEX trading fees for takers are 0.20%. This fee is in line with industry average, maybe slightly on the high end of average though. The exchange also offers a discount to makers, who trade at a fee of 0.10%. This is especially beneficial for the investors not interested in picking up existing orders from the order book.
BCEX Withdrawal fees
BCEX charges a withdrawal fee amounting to 0.0009 BTC when you withdraw BTC. This is quite in line with industry average, as the industry average is arguably 0.000812 BTC per BTC-withdrawal (at least according to Cryptowisser's research).
All in all, the fees charged by BCEX are in line with, or maybe slightly above, the global industry averages.
Deposit Methods
Unfortunately for new cryptocurrency investors, BCEX does not accept any other deposit method than cryptocurrencies. This means that if you don’t hold any crypto and want to start trading here, you need to first purchase cryptocurrency elsewhere and then – as a second step – deposit such cryptocurrencies at BCEX. To find the best cryptocurrency exchange site for you where you can buy your first cryptos, use our Exchange Finder and we’ll guide you through it.
