Coinberry is a crypto platform registered in Canada for Canadians. It has been active since 2017. This platform's offering is easy to describe: you can buy Bitcoin and 17 other cryptocurrencies here. This means that the platform never holds the users' crypto assets. When you have bought your crypto, the platform sends it directly to your wallet address. The Company also emphasizes that they focus on security.

Most crypto traders feel that desktops give the best conditions for their trading. The computer has a bigger screen, and on bigger screens, more of the crucial information that most traders base their trading decisions on can be viewed at the same time. The trading chart will also be easier to display. However, not all crypto investors require desktops for their trading. Some prefer to do their crypto trading via their mobile phone. If you are one of those traders, you’ll be happy to learn that Coinberry’s trading platform is also available as an app for iPhone and Android users.

Different exchanges have different trading views. And there is no “this overview is the best”-view. You should yourself determine which trading view that suits you the best. What the views normally have in common is that they all show the order book or at least part of the order book, a price chart of the chosen cryptocurrency and order history. They normally also have buy and sell-boxes. Before you choose an exchange, try to have a look at the trading view so that you can ascertain that it feels right to you.

As we are not from Canada, we have not been able to obtain a picture of the purchase interface here. We apologize for this inconvenience and we will be sure to update this review with a picture of the trading view as soon as we have received it.

Coinberry does not allow US-investors on its exchange. Nor does it allow investors from any other part of the world outside Canada.

So if you’re not from Canada, and would like to engage in crypto trading, you will have to look elsewhere. Luckily for you, if you go to the Exchange List and use our exchange filters, you can sort the exchanges based on whether or not they accept US-investors (and most of the platforms who accept US-investors also accept, inter alia, European investors too).

Coinberry has an affiliate program. For each user you refer under this program, you will receive 50% of the fees the referred user generates. This affiliate program is easy enough to understand, and could potentially generate a sizeable income in the long run.

You can sign up to the affiliate program here.

This particular platform is more a cryptocurrency store than a cryptocurrency exchange. They sell cryptocurrency from their own inventory, and do not facilitate transfers from one Coinberry-user to another. Accordingly, it is difficult to compare the fees charged by Coinberry with the industry average trading fee at a regular centralized exchange (being 0.221% for takers and 0.177% for makers, according to this report).

Coinberry charges what we call a "spread". The spread is the mark-up or mark-down charged by the platform when you purchase a certain crypto here. So if the price of the relevant crypto is USD 100, and the spread is 1%, the buyer can buy the crypto on the trading platform for USD 101. The difference between the sell price and the purchase price (USD 1 in this case), goes to the trading platform.

Coinberry's spread ranges from 0.00% up to 2.50%. We have used the high end of this range as the value in our fee database.

Coinberry Trading Fees

Coinberry charges a withdrawal fee of 0.0005 BTC per BTC-withdrawal. This fee is quite in line with, or even slightly below, the global industry average. The current global industry average is 0.00057 BTC per BTC-withdrawal according to this report.

Coinberry lets you deposit assets to the exchange through e-Transfer (a type of wire transfer). Seeing as fiat currency deposits are possible at this trading platform, the platform qualifies as an “entry-level exchange”, making it possible for new cryptocurrency investors to take their first steps into the cryptocurrency world here. The minimum deposit is only 50 Canadian Dollars.
