Gatecoin Review
Gatecoin is a cryptocurrency exchange registered in Hong Kong.
Through its trading platform, investors can invest in a wide variety of cryptocurrencies and blockchain tokens. Clients can fund their accounts with HKD, USD or EUR. The platform also has a functionality through which verified users can directly participate in token presales. These normally run before official token generation events (TGEs). Exclusive discounts are also available to Gatecoin’s users participating in token presales and TGEs.
US-investors are permitted with the following exceptions. You may not trade at Gatecoin if you are from any of the following states:
Arizona;
California;
Maine;
New York;
North Carolina;
South Dakota;
West Virginia; and
Wyoming.
So, if you are from any of the above states, you can’t trade at Gatecoin. Don’t be too sad though, there are many other venues that offer the type of trading this exchange does. Use our Exchange Finder here to find out which alternatives you have.
Gatecoin Trading View
Different exchanges have different trading views. And there is no “this overview is the best”-view. You should yourself determine which trading view that suits you the best. What the views normally have in common is that they all show the order book or at least part of the order book, a price chart of the chosen cryptocurrency and order history. They normally also have buy and sell-boxes. Before you choose an exchange, try to have a look at the trading view so that you can ascertain that it feels right to you. The below is a picture of the trading view at Gatecoin:
Gatecoin Fees
Gatecoin Trading fees
Every trade occurs between two parties: the maker, whose order exists on the order book prior to the trade, and the taker, who places the order that matches (or “takes”) the maker’s order. We call makers that because their orders make the liquidity in a market. Takers are the ones who remove this liquidity by matching makers’ orders with their own.
This cryptocurrency exchange site’s trading fees for takers are 0.35%. Gatecoin does however offer a discount for makers, thus promoting the liquidity at the exchange. Makers pay 0.25%.
Gatecoin Withdrawal fees
Gatecoin charges a withdrawal fee amounting to 0.0006 BTC when you withdraw BTC. This fee is below the industry average and thus constitutes a strong competitive advantage against the majority of other top crypto exchanges in the market.
Deposit Methods
This trading platform offers wire transfer as a deposit method, but you can’t deposit via credit card. This of course negative news to you if you would prefer to use your credit card for any reason.
