ISX Review
What is ISX?
ISX is an Icelandic cryptocurrency exchange. To our knowledge, it is also the only existing Icelandic cryptocurrency exchange. It offers trading in two coins against the Icelandic national currency ISK: BTC and AUR.
Only For People From Iceland
Non-Icelandic investors may not trade on this exchange. So if you are a non-Icelandic investor and want to trade at ISX, you’ll have to reconsider your choice of trading venue. Don’t be too sad though, there are many other venues that offer the type of trading this exchange does. Use our Exchange Finder here to find out which alternatives you have.
ISX Trading View
Different exchanges have different trading views. And there is no “this overview is the best”-view. You should yourself determine which trading view that suits you the best. What the views normally have in common is that they all show the order book or at least part of the order book, a price chart of the chosen cryptocurrency and order history. They normally also have buy and sell-boxes. As we are not Icelandic-investors, we have not been able to open account with ISX. As such, we have not been able to obtain a picture of the trading view here either. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We have however been able to obtain a picture of the order book, which looks very rudimentary.
ISX Fees
ISX Trading fees
This trading platform doesn’t charge different fees between takers and makers. Their fee model is instead something called a “flat fee model”. They charge you a flat fee on every trade amounting to 1.00%. This is about four times higher than the global industry average. The global industry average is arguably around 0.25%.
ISX Withdrawal fees
This platform states that "mining fees are deducted from electronic currency withdrawals". Our interpretation of this is that the exchange only charged the network fees when you withdraw crypto from the platform. If that is correct, then ISX's withdrawal fee, or rather lack of withdrawal fee, is below the industry average and very competitive.
Deposit Methods
This Icelandic exchange offers wire transfer as a deposit method. You cannot, however, deposit funds through your debit or credit card.
