In a blog post on Tuesday, the Algorand Foundation announced that it had partnered with Canada SailGP, an independent team committed to the growth of the sport of sailing in Canada.
The two entities have signed a three-year partnership. The Algorand Foundation said the agreement is the first major partnership announcement for the Canadian team and sponsorship of a professional sailing team by a blockchain platform.
Algorand is an open-source, permissionless, Pure Proof-of-Stake (PPoS) blockchain protocol for “the next generation of financial products”. As such, Algorand ensures "full participation, protection and speed within a truly decentralized network".
ALGO is trading at $0.7508 at press time, down by more than 3% in the last 24 hours.
