BitTorrent File System (BTFS) V2.1.0 Mainnet-Newton is now live

The BitTorrent team announced on Twitter over the weekend that the BitTorrent File System (BTFS) V2.1.0 Mainnet-Newton is now live. BTFS v2.1.0 comprises BTFS nodes, including renters and hosts. Following this upgrade, renters can upload files by paying Wrapped BTT ($WBTT) while hosts provide storage in the network for $WBTT rewards.

The BitTorrent token is a TRC-10 token on the Tron blockchain. The BTT token intends to build a token-based economy for networking, bandwidth, and storage resources on the existing BitTorrent network.

BitTorrent’s BTTC token is up by 1.5% so far today and is trading at $0.00000201 at press time.
