On Wednesday, Chainlink announced via X that Chainlink Functions and VRF are now live on Soneium. Soneium is a next-gen blockchain from Sony Block Solutions Labs and a member of Chainlink Scale.
Chainlink Functions connects smart contracts on Soneium with customizable compute infrastructure. Soneium developers can use functions to connect smart contracts to any data, device, or system from public and password-protected APIs, machine learning and AI platforms, IoT devices, and cloud computing and enterprise systems.
Chainlink VRF is the standard for provably fair, unpredictable, verifiable, and tamper-proof onchain randomness for blockchain-based applications. Since it's verifiably tamper-proof, users have onchain proof that random dynamics in smart contracts are truly random, meaning the application relying on it will deliver provably fair outcomes.
Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof data inputs and outputs for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is down 3.5% over the past 24 hours, trading at $13.27.
