Ethereum’s White Paper Predicted DeFi But Not NFTs, Says Buterin

Vitalik Buterin pointed out that the Ethereum whitepaper predicted the rise of decentralized finance (DeFi) but missed out on nonfungible tokens (NFTs).

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin pointed out that the Ethereum whitepaper predicted the rise of decentralized finance (DeFi) but missed out on nonfungible tokens (NFTs).

Buterin was revisiting some of his old predictions over the weekend and he said he was proud of the growth the Ethereum network has recorded. NFTs have become very popular in the cryptocurrency space and Buterin said the Ethereum whitepaper didn’t predict their rise.

ETH is trading above $3,800, up by more than 2% over the past 24 hours.
