On Wednesday, the Wormhole team announced via X that Google Cloud has joined the Guardian Network, Wormhole's security system, to validate cross-chain messages and enhance decentralization.

By running a Guardian node, Google Cloud joins 19 leading validators verifying cross-chain messages, further strengthening Wormhole's decentralization and security. Google Cloud will also help maintain the highest standards of multichain security in the ecosystem, accelerate WormholeZK research, and support the Wormhole Sigma Startup Program.

This will include strengthening provers for uninterrupted, cheap, and trustless message verification across chains. With Google Cloud’s support, Wormhole is researching the addition of trustless ZK verification mechanisms in addition to the Wormhole Guardians.

Wormhole is a decentralized bridge between blockchains that enables the transfer of assets and data across different blockchain networks. It aims to facilitate interoperability and expand the capabilities of blockchain technology. W is trading at $0.2245, up 10% in the last 24 hours.
