Harmony Protocol announced via Twitter on Friday that its Mainnet Release v2023.1.0 will take place on Wednesday, 8 Feb, at 11:30 PM UTC. The hardfork mainly features Native ONE Cross-Shard transfer precompile, allowing the use of Metamask to send ONE from one shard to another. All node runners (explorer and validator) are required to upgrade before that date, the Harmony team added.

Harmony is a fast and secure blockchain for decentralized applications. Harmony's main focus is on achieving scalability by dividing not only the network nodes but also the blockchain states into shards, "scaling linearly in all three aspects of machines, transactions and storage." ONE, Harmony Protocol’s native token, is down by 6% in the past 24 hours and currently trades at $0.02618.
