This comprehensive roadmap encapsulates three years of remarkable progress and sets forth ambitious initiatives to solidify ICP's position as a trailblazer in decentralized AI (DeAI) and blockchain interoperability.
Since its inception in May 2021, the Internet Computer blockchain has demonstrated unparalleled resilience, processing over three billion blocks without a single instance of downtime. Notably, the Network Nervous System (NNS) DAO has amassed over $3 billion in locked value, testament to the platform's robust ecosystem and burgeoning community support.
Despite its relatively recent mainnet launch, the ICP ecosystem has experienced exponential developer growth, with numbers soaring 12-fold between 2020 and 2023. This influx of talent underscores the platform's appeal as a fertile ground for innovation and collaboration.
The roadmap's centerpiece revolves around Decentralized AI (DeAI), charting a course to enable AI model training and execution directly on the blockchain. By leveraging ICP's computational prowess and smart contract capabilities, this initiative aims to bring transparency and trustworthiness to AI applications, heralding a new era of decentralized AI governance.
Another pivotal aspect of the roadmap is Chain Fusion, designed to foster seamless interoperability between ICP and major blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and soon Solana. Through Chain Fusion, developers can create contracts spanning multiple chains, eliminating the fragmentation of liquidity and tribalism prevalent in the blockchain landscape.
