Leading Hollywood director Spike Lee publicly backs Bitcoin in a new advert.
Cryptocurrency has been prominent in media coverage this year and, as always, Hollywood will always have its say on big issues in the public sphere. The latest move comes from one of the most respected directors in the US Spike Lee, the man that brought us Inside man and 25th hour, to name a few.
We’ve already seen big names like Alec Baldwin and Neil Patrick Harris show their hand regarding crypto, taking part in ads for big industry players like eToro and CoinFlip. Spike Lee is another in a growing line of celebrities promoting digital currency.
Lee has always had a way of speaking directly to the people, cutting up popular public issues and creating a connection between viewers and issues. Such a well-respected figure has a way with his audience, and this commercial for Coin Cloud is a bold and admirable move for a man that believes in the value of crypto.

The advertisement caught our attention for it’s message, with one particular quote that really stood out: “The digital rebellion is here.” Set in the backdrop of New York City’s Wall Street, it sends a clear message to traditional banking that the future is going to be different, with the power back in the hands of the people. The advert also features prominent transgender actress Mj Rodriguez.
There is a clear aim for the crypto industry and that is to make things transparent, so that the public understand what crypto is and the direction in which it can lead society. Bankers and governments that support them have failed the public time and time again and ‘men of the people’ like Spike Lee would like to see a better brighter future for personal finance.
