LINE NEXT Inc., LINE’s venture dedicated to developing and expanding the Web3 ecosystem, has announced the launch of Mini Dapps and Dapp Portal powered by the Kaia blockchain, available to users worldwide.
In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, LINE NEXT said Mini Dapps are accessible directly on LINE Messenger and through the Dapp Portal’s Official Account without downloading a separate application.
On the Dapp Portal, users can search, discover, and engage with a wide range of Mini Dapps in categories such as games, social media, and Web3-enabled content. Mini Dapps can also be found through each of their LINE Official Accounts, the account service of enterprises or brands on LINE Messenger.
According to LINE NEXT, users can get rewards for using each Dapps, and trade digital assets and NFTs through its in-app wallet. LINE NEXT will also incorporate the Dapp Portal segment into the LINE Messenger home tab while launching a web version of the Dapp Portal that is accessible without installing the LINE Messenger mobile app in the future.
The team added that the first 32 Mini Dapps were developed under the Kaia Wave program, jointly operated by LINE NEXT and Kaia DLT Foundation, the non-profit driving the Kaia public blockchain ecosystem expansion, to support Web3 developers. LINE NEXT’s software development kit (SDK) also accelerated the building of Mini Dapps, helping seamlessly operate on the LINE Messenger ecosystem.
LINE NEXT revealed that the first inaugural batch of Mini Dapps include:
-
Bombie and Cattea was developed by Pluto Studio, whose mini-app project attracted 43 million users in just six months and achieved No.1 in sales volume
-
Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS- on LINE, a game based on the popular soccer manga Captain Tsubasa
-
Superz, a healthcare and wellness gateway Dapp for non-crypto users, seamlessly blends fitness habits and tangible rewards
LINE NEXT aims to introduce more than 1,000 projects by the end of 2025. While commenting on this launch, Youngsu Ko, CEO of LINE NEXT, said,
“A true popularization of Web3 services depends on their accessibility and usability. Mini Dapps based on LINE Messenger will become the first large-scale Web3 user adoption case in Asia.”
Dr. Sam Seo, Chairman of Kaia DLT Foundation, added that,
“We are excited to provide a seamless Web3 experience through Mini Dapps and Dapp Portal. Kaia will continue to provide highly reliable and scalable blockchain solutions for LINE NEXT and our Web3 partners.”
To celebrate the launch of the Dapp Portal, LINE NEXT has, for a limited time, prepared a reward program through which users can get rewards from Dapps and KAIA rewards by just clicking the Dapps.
Based in the United States, LINE NEXT Inc. is focused on growing the global Web3 business. Through building a Web3 ecosystem, LINE NEXT aims to provide new digital experiences and lead the way into the future.
Kaia is a high-performance public blockchain that brings Web3 to the fingertips of hundreds of millions across Asia. Formed through the merger of the Klaytn and Finschia blockchains that were initially developed by Kakao and LINE, respectively, Kaia is Asia’s largest Web3 ecosystem integrated with the Kakaotalk and LINE messengers that have a combined user base of over 250 million.
Finally, the Kaia DLT Foundation, based in Abu Dhabi, was established in 2024 to expand the ecosystem of Kaia, a global Layer 1 blockchain platform. The foundation drives the adoption and development of new technologies to ensure that Kaia fulfills its role as an accessible, transparent, and sustainable blockchain platform for developers and users alike and facilitates decision-making to ensure that the ecosystem continues to expand optimally in the rapidly changing blockchain landscape.
