Lumia has announced the launch of its layer-2 network to increase accessibility to RWAs and unlock new use cases for tokenized assets.

Lumia has announced the launch of its layer 2 network for Real World Assets (RWAs). According to the development team, the deployment of this network onchain liquidity for RWAs, increases access, and unlocks new use cases for tokenized assets.

In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, the team said Lumia is one of the first rollups to be designed specifically for RWAs. Thanks to its features, tokenized assets representing real estate, commodities, art, equities, and financial indexes can all be issued on Lumia.

Furthermore, Lumia is one of the first L2s to support Polygon AggLayer, enabling near-instantaneous cross-chain transactions utilizing ZK proofs. Polygon’s AggLayer supports enhanced UX with faster loading times

Lumia is designed to overcome the problem of liquidity fragmentation. The network achieves this via its liquidity module, Lumia Stream, which allows Lumia L2 and other DeFi protocols to access large liquidity pools by combining the most liquid CEXs and DEXs into a single decentralized source.

With Lumia Stream, LPs enjoy new opportunities as it delivers an unprecedented level of on-chain capital efficiency. The team revealed that Lumia Stream’s capital efficiency has been displayed on 1inch RFQ with $8M volume settled using less than $30K in deployed capital for 28 assets.

With the launch of Lumia’s mainnet, the existing $ORN token, currently listed on global tier-1 exchanges like Binance, KuCoin, OKX, and others, will be rebranded and swapped to $LUMIA.

The LUMIA token will have numerous utilities for network participants including transaction fees, node operators, and more.

Furthermore, Lumia’s L2 will go live with several launch partners and service providers onboarded along with a grant program to be launched soon for builders. With these events, Lumia is set to build a solid foundation from day one, ensuring that partners and users can explore economic opportunities and financial markets that will take shape on the network.

Lumia is the world’s first next-gen modular L2 designed with deep liquidity, unmatched capital efficiency, and essential infrastructure for the future of DeFi and specifically Real-World Assets (RWAs). Lumia bridges the gap between physical assets and digital finance, making tokenized assets easily accessible on the blockchain - pioneering the next evolution of finance.
