MetaMask Integrates with Space ID

MetaMask and Space ID have announced an integration to simplify cryptocurrency transactions and wallet access.

According to the teams, the integration will enable users to replace all their public wallet addresses with a single, secure, and customizable handle when making transactions on MetaMask. "This means that, rather than a 42-character muddle of letters and numbers, where one slip means a total loss of funds, Space ID users need only enter a simple username to send crypto," the statement added.

MetaMask is one of the leading self-custodial wallets in the world and supports a wide range of digital assets. Meanwhile, Space ID is a web3 domain and identity platform that allows users to manage their digital assets with a single interface.

According to MetaMask Product Lead Christian Montoya, the Space ID integration will make it easier and safer for MetaMask users to send and receive crypto on any EVM-compatible chain.

Space ID added that users can now organize and store their handles for multiple chains in one wallet with this integration.

MetaMask has been rolling out new products in recent months to cement its position as one of the leading wallet providers in the crypto space. Two months ago, MetaMask launched the MetaMask Card, a crypto-powered debit card enabling users to spend their cryptocurrency seamlessly on everyday purchases.

Earlier this year, CoinDesk also reported that MetaMask is reportedly working to integrate native Bitcoin (BTC) to expand its functionality within the Web3 ecosystem.
