Celo announced via X on Wednesday that MiniPay, a Dollar stablecoin wallet on Opera Mini Browser, has launched on the Celo network.

Celo announced via X on Wednesday that MiniPay, a Dollar stablecoin wallet on Opera Mini Browser, has launched on the Celo network. MiniPay first launched in September 2023, available in Nigeria, with the mission of onboarding millions of users across Africa to Web3.

Its launch on Celo enhances existing benefits and brings new ones to the over 3 million users leveraging MiniPay for daily transactions, from peer-to-peer payments to paying for bills and utilities directly without cashing out to local currency.

MiniPay also comes with Pockets, a feature that allows users to "Drag & Swap" between cUSDC, USDT, and USDC for simpler transfers between integrated currencies.

Celo is an open platform that supports various distributed applications, smart contract development, and payments using e-mail addresses and phone numbers as public keys. CELO is down by more than 4% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.5484.
