The Near Foundation announced via a blog post on Thursday that it has launched the NEAR AI Agent Fund. The fund will focus on scaling the development of fully autonomous and verifiable agents built on NEAR technology.
Over the next few months, the $20M liquid fund will be deployed onchain into agent tokens powering novel decentralized AI use cases and mass market consumer solutions.
The fund will also explore working with ecosystems like Sky, Frax, and more to accelerate the launch of novel use cases powered by AI agents that can unlock new flows of value.
NEAR Protocol is a decentralized application platform designed to make apps similarly usable to those on today’s web. The network runs on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism called Nightshade, which aims to provide dynamic scalability and stabilize fees. NEAR is trading at $3.214, down 3.5% in the last 24 hours.
