Report: Semler Scientific Adds 303 BTC to Holdings

Semler Scientific, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMLR), a leader in healthcare technology solutions, today announced that it has acquired an additional 303 bitcoins for $29.3 million, bringing its total bitcoin holdings to 1,873 BTC. This latest acquisition was made between November 25 and December 4, 2024, at an average price of $96,779 per bitcoin.

The company’s total bitcoin holdings have now reached $147.1 million, acquired at an average price of $78,553 per bitcoin. This purchase was funded through proceeds from Semler’s at-the-market (ATM) offering, which has generated approximately $79.8 million in gross proceeds to date.

Semler’s investment in bitcoin is part of its broader strategy to enhance shareholder value. The company also reported a BTC Yield of 78.7% for the period from July 1 to December 4, 2024, highlighting the strong returns on its bitcoin investments.

This news comes as the US government considers expanding its own Bitcoin investments through the strategic BTC reserves. These reserves would build on the more than 200,000 Bitcoins already owned by the US government. The Bitcoin Act of 2024 introduced by Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis would commit the US government to buying 200,000 Bitcoins every year for five years.
