On Tuesday, the Secret Network announced via X that it is moving away from TEE and exclusively to Zero Knowledge (ZK) technology. According to the Secret Network, TEE technology is neither fast nor efficient enough for general-purpose applications nor flexible enough for Turing-complete smart contracts that protect privacy.
ZK, with its focus on scaling public blockchains and creating proofs, makes it a better alternative to privacy-preserving applications involving complex use cases and arbitrary numbers of users. It simply scales better.
Secret Network is an interoperable blockchain infrastructure that aims to enable computational privacy for general-purpose smart contracts. SCRT is trading at $0.265, down 7.5% in the last 24 hours.
