The Sandbox Introduces CATALYSTs

The Sandbox announced via a blog post on Monday that it has launched CATALYSTs, a new ERC-1155 token designed to empower creators on its platform. CATALYST tokens will allow owners to mint ASSETs and define their rarity and properties according to different tiers.

The team explained that the new CATALYSTs are ERC-1155 tokens on Polygon Layer 2 that replace gems as a tool needed to mint. Users can utilize CATALYSTs to mint their published ASSETs, monetize their collections, and sell their creations. With a CATALYST, users can mint one copy of their NFT. They can also mint as many copies as they want as long as they have enough CATALYSTs in their wallets.

The Sandbox is a virtual world built on the Ethereum blockchain where players can build, own, and monetize their gaming experiences. SAND is down by 2% in the last 24 hours and currently trades at $0.5110 per token.
