UFC owners come to an agreement for a 10 year ‘fight kit’ sponsorship deal worth $175 million
The latest big move for Crypto.com sees them land a colossal sponsorship deal with Dana White’s Ultimate Fight Championship. In what is a multiyear agreement, the pioneering crypto trading platform will have its name featured on UFC fight kits and apparel worn by the fighters and training staff for the next 10 years. One of the other major aspects of the deal is that Crypto.com will have rights to the UFC’s “Cryptocurrency Platform Partner” sponsorship category, which will be something that becomes increasingly sortafter and lucrative as crypto continues to grow.
Crypto.com representatives announced the deal live on air, but didn’t disclose any details beyond the cost and duration of the sponsorship deal. Crypto.com is a growing online exchange for various cryptocurrencies and boasts over 10 million users. With the crypto business thriving, Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek has been very busy looking to push the company's name out there. These moves are all a part of trying to accelerate the growth and mainstream acceptance of cryptocurrency within global society. While Crypto.com isn’t the first company in the industry to land a sponsorship deal, they are one of the first to secure deals with such prominent mainstream organizations, notably in the professional sport. We’ve seen the likes of the NBA’s Blazers and Heat land deals with cryptocurrency trading platforms StormX and FTX.us, respectively.
The most exciting thing to recognize is the presence of cryptocurrency organizations in the public space and the belief from organizations like the UFC that the crypto space is worth investing hundreds of millions of dollars into. When NFT gained a lot of media attention at the start of the year, UFC struck a licensing agreement with the same company (Dapper Labs) that made the NBA’s Top Shot digital collectable
