Decentralized physical infrastructure network io.net has appointed Tory Green as new CEO to lead the company as it expands its Internet of GPUs.

io.net, a leader in Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), announced on Thursday, August 15th, that it has appointed Tory Green as its new CEO.

In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, io.net revealed that Toryreplaces the outgoing Ahmad Shadid, stepping up from his COO role with io.net, and will now lead the company as it expands its Internet of GPUs.

As the new CEO, Tory Green brings over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, investor, and C-level executive in the tech industry. As the company’s COO, Tory was crucial in navigating io.net's strategic initiatives and growth, gaining a wealth of knowledge about the challenges of expanding a decentralized physical infrastructure network to compete with centralized incumbents.

Tory also played a key role in io.net’s growth, having led the company’s Series A fundraising and managed day-to-day operations in the months leading up to the leadership transition.

In his new role as CEO, Tory will be reinforcing the Business Development and Technical teams, including appointing new leadership to prepare for io.net’s next stage of growth.

While commenting on his appointment, Tory Green said,

“I’m honored to be appointed CEO of io.net, and of building upon the fine work that has been done in carrying the company to where it is today. Over the last five years, io.net has evolved from an idea into a major company that is accelerating AI innovation and providing revenue for a global army of GPU and CPU suppliers. But this is only the start. With IOG Network we’ve proven the viability of DePIN in creating a thriving two-sided marketplace that allows AI startups to access the compute they need on demand. Now, the focus turns to expanding our global network with the goal of positioning io.net at the forefront of the AI revolution while providing greater opportunities for GPU suppliers to participate.”

Before joining io.net, Tory’s career included seven years as a VC at Tiller Partners, where he worked with portfolio companies in a variety of operational roles (COO, CRO, CFO). More recently, he served as COO & CFO of Hum Capital.

He also held key operational, financial, and strategic roles at Tiller Partners, Hum Capital, Oaktree Capital Management, The Walt Disney Company, Merrill Lynch, and 21st Century Fox. He holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University and played football for the United States Military Academy at West Point.

io.net launched seven months ago and has generated more than $1 million in earnings via its self-service platform. The platform also has a robust managed services business with $200K per month in revenue.

The network now has over 250,000 verified GPUs and CPUs that have completed Proof of Work verification and 26,000 cluster-ready GPUs and CPUs that are available for on-demand deployment.

The appointment comes three days after io.net partnered with NetMind to boost their abilities to deliver powerful, cost-effective AI solutions that benefit end users on both sides.

io.net is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) that deploys and manages on-demand, decentralized GPU clusters from geo-distributed sources. Hundreds of thousands of GPUs are accessible today in IO Network, and this Internet of GPUs is specifically architected for low latency, high processing demand use cases like AI/ML ops and cloud gaming. io.net democratizes access to GPU compute capacity while reducing costs, expediting lead times, and expanding choice for engineers and businesses.
