President-elect Donald Trump has appointed David Sacks as the White House's AI and Crypto Czar. He made this announcement in a TruthSocial post on Thursday night. In his announcement, Trump said,
"David will guide policy for the Administration in Artificial Intelligence and Cryptocurrency, two areas critical to the future of American competitiveness. David will focus on making America the clear global leader in both areas."

Sacks is a venture capitalist, a limited partner in MultiCoin Capital, and also a general partner and co-founder at Craft Ventures, which counts BitGo and Bitwise as portfolio companies
Sacks, a former Chief Operating Officer at PayPal, will be tasked with helping craft a legal framework for the crypto industry. Trump said he would also "safeguard Free Speech online and steer us away from Big Tech bias and censorship."
This latest development comes roughly 24 hours after the president-elect named former SEC Commissioner Paul Atkins to head the securities regulator. Atkins is a popular name within the crypto ecosystem, working with The Digital Chamber, an industry lobbying group, and advising Reserve and Securitize.
