World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a cryptocurrency initiative associated with the Trump family, has made a significant move in the crypto market, acquiring 722.213 Ethereum for $2.5 million USDC on December 20. The acquisition, made through Cow Protocol, brings WLFI's total Ethereum holdings to 15,598 ETH, now valued at nearly $53 million. This strategic purchase occurred amid a market-wide dip, with Ethereum’s price recently dropping by $254.28, resulting in a $3.97 million decline in the value of WLFI's ETH holdings.
In addition to Ethereum, WLFI has also been increasing its stakes in other major cryptocurrencies. The project spent $1 million USDC to acquire 3,357 AAVE tokens and 41,335 LINK tokens, further diversifying its portfolio. Additionally, WLFI added 231,726 Ethena (ENA) tokens following a partnership announcement with Ethena Labs.
Despite recent market fluctuations, WLFI’s portfolio remains substantial, with a current total value of $75.32 million. The project continues to expand its crypto assets, even as the broader market experiences price declines.
