Former President Trump reaffirms commitment to embracing cryptocurrencies and reducing regulations in his economic vision for America.

Donald Trump, the 2024 US Presidential candidate, has once again highlighted cryptocurrencies as part of his broader economic agenda for the country. During a speech at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday, the former President reiterated his intention to establish the United States as the "world capital for crypto and Bitcoin" should he win re-election.

Deregulation and Crypto Embrace

Trump outlined a bold plan to streamline regulations, promising to eliminate at least ten existing regulations for every new one introduced. He emphasized that this approach would "liberate the US economy from crippling regulation."

"Instead of attacking industries of the future, we will embrace them, including making America the world capital for crypto and Bitcoin," Trump stated, signaling a stark contrast to the current administration's approach to digital assets.

This crypto-friendly rhetoric comes on the heels of the Trump family's recent involvement in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. They recently teased a project called World Liberty Financial, which is set to be built on Aave, a popular Ethereum-based lending platform.

Comprehensive Economic Vision

Trump's hour-long address covered a wide range of economic topics beyond cryptocurrencies. He outlined plans to:

  1. Reduce inflation
  2. Boost domestic energy production
  3. Transform America into a "manufacturing superpower"
  4. Implement pro-American trade policies using tariffs
  5. Ensure low taxes, energy costs, and interest rates
  6. Secure borders and reduce crime
  7. Increase income for all citizens

Additionally, Trump mentioned considering Elon Musk's suggestion to create a government efficiency commission tasked with auditing federal spending. He also briefly touched on artificial intelligence, acknowledging its controversial nature while emphasizing the need for American leadership in the field.

Trump concluded by drawing parallels between his approach to the economy and his business acumen, stating, "I took care of our economy like I would take care of my own company. I always put America first, every single time."
