Uniswap now integrates Robinhood Connect, enabling US users to buy cryptocurrencies through the mobile app using Robinhood account funds, debit cards, or bank transfers.

Uniswap Enables Crypto Purchases Through Robinhood Connect

New users leveraging Robinhood Connect through Uniswap's platform stand to benefit from a special promotion. Upon purchasing a minimum of $10 worth of crypto, they receive $10 in USDC, extending a warm welcome to the platform.

To initiate a crypto purchase via Robinhood Connect on the Uniswap mobile app, users simply tap the buy icon, select their desired cryptocurrency, and specify the amount. They can then proceed by selecting "Continue" and choosing Robinhood Connect as their provider to finalize the transaction.

Uniswap Labs Raises Trading Fee to 0.25%

Uniswap Labs has revised its trading fee structure, increasing fees to 0.25% from the previous 0.15%. This adjustment applies to most transactions on both the mainnet and Layer 2 networks, with exceptions for swaps involving stablecoins and Ethereum-Wrapped Ethereum transactions.

In response to the fee increase, users have the option to explore alternative interfaces to access the Uniswap protocol and complete transactions at lower costs.

Heightened Regulatory Scrutiny and Governance Challenges

Amidst regulatory scrutiny, Uniswap faced challenges, with founder Hayden Adams disclosing receipt of a Wells Notice from the SEC. This notice signals potential legal action for operating as an unlicensed exchange. Adams emphasized Uniswap Labs' role primarily as a software development entity crucial to the ongoing evolution of the Uniswap protocol.

Furthermore, a governance proposal aiming to modify the platform's fee structure faced rejection by the community in March 2024. The proposal sought to enable revenue sharing among UNI token holders by granting the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) authority to adjust the fee mechanism, potentially activating the anticipated "fee-switch" feature.
