Travala, the crypto-native travel booking service, has announced its partnership with Trivago, one of the top global accommodation metasearch engines. In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, Travala said it will integrate its hotel inventory of over 2,200,000 properties on Trivago.
The integration will enable millions of Trivago users to discover, compare, and book Travala’s properties globally. The team added that when selecting a Travala property on Trivago, travelers will be redirected to Travala, which offers payments in over 100 cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the platform’s native travel loyalty token, AVA.
Travelers who book with Travala after finding a property on trivago can also receive Bitcoin or AVA rewards as part of the AVA Smart Program, regardless of whether they opt to book with traditional payments or cryptocurrencies.
While commenting on this partnership, Timo Itterbeck, Head of Account Management APAC / LATAM / Spain at trivago, said,
“At trivago, we aim to provide travelers with the most comprehensive overview of all available accommodation options. By integrating Travala, we’re expanding the choice for our customers while also broadening their ability to book with emerging payment options like cryptocurrencies.”
This latest development comes a month after Travala announced its record $100 million in gross yearly revenue in 2024, almost doubling its revenue from the previous year. On average, 78% of all bookings on Travala in 2024 were paid for using cryptocurrency, highlighting the increasing demand for crypto travel.
Juan Otero, CEO of Travala, also stated that,
“Our integration with trivago is another key step in bringing crypto adoption to the masses. There are hundreds of billions of daily searches performed across travel metasearch engines, and adding Travala to trivago isn’t just beneficial for us—it helps amplify and further legitimize the entire crypto ecosystem by expanding the prevalence of crypto transactions for real-world services.”
This partnership comes after Travala’s integrations with other travel metasearch engines, Skyscanner and KAYAK, which saw Travala become the first crypto OTA to be integrated on these platforms.
Founded in 2017, Travala is the leading crypto-native travel booking service with 2,200,000+ properties in 230 countries, 400,000+ activities, and 600+ airlines globally. Travala is a champion of cryptocurrency adoption, accepting over 100 leading cryptocurrencies alongside traditional payment methods. In addition to unbeatable prices via its Best Price Guarantee, Smart members on Travala can also enjoy additional discounts and loyalty rewards for eligible bookings made on the platform.
