The head of KuCoin Labs says women have a lot to contribute to the Web3 ecosystem despite men currently dominating the space.

Lou Yu, the head of KuCoin Labs, has revealed that Web3 adoption by women is increasing massively, and this is a good thing for the broader cryptocurrency space.

The cryptocurrency space has been defined as a male-dominated ecosystem. There are more men in the crypto and blockchain industry than women, mostly due to more interest from the male gender.

However, in a recent report titled the ‘Web 3 Career Market Report,’ KuCoin revealed that Web3 is becoming a big player in professional circles. According to the report, 6% of the 3,600+ respondents said they worked in Web3.

The Web3 space is a growing ecosystem that includes fields such as nonfungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized finance (DeFi), the metaverse, GameFi, digital asset projects, and more.

The report said, “The majority believes that Web 3 leads to a decentralized new world and defines the future of the internet, going beyond crypto adoption.”

Yu pointed out that while men currently dominate the Web3 ecosystem, women are becoming more involved and have unique attributes to contribute to the space. She said;

“Women can add their unique perspective on Web3 when engaged in the development of products for it. The current Web3 environment can leverage the potential of women by giving them leading roles in product development, thus gaining invaluable insights into resulting traction. I am certain that female professionals can contribute unique and creative approaches to the overall rise of Web3 as a space of countless use cases and applications for the entire global online population.”

The head of KuCoin Labs said she is very bullish about the metaverse and its future. She describes the metaverse as the place to be for the next generation of entrepreneurial internet users.

Yu’s bullishness about the metaverse doesn’t come as a surprise, as KuCoin recently opened an office in the Ertha metaverse. According to the report, the KuCoin office is located in the first playable ERTHA NFT land plot. KuCoin chose this metaverse because its play-and-earn mechanics allow nonfungible token (NFT) owners to enjoy the opportunity to earn income from their land.

Last week, KuCoin Labs announced that it had led the seed round investment in PlayZap Games. The company is an Asian Web3 Game console and will be a part of KuCoin’s continued interest in the GameFi space.

The low KuCoin fees make it one of the most attractive cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. Is KuCoin available in the US? At the moment, KuCoin isn’t licensed to operate in the United States. However, with the exchange’s globalization plan currently in motion, KuCoin could be expanding into the North American country soon.
