Top Three Web 3.0 AI Projects to Keep an Eye On

The Web3 AI ecosystem has grown significantly over the past year. However, it is still nowhere near its full potential given that the total cryptocurrency market cap is well over $3 trillion. Some crypto industry experts such as Syncracy Capital Co-founder, Daniel Cheung, are of the opinion that this niche sector could easily do a 10x from its current valuation.

“Despite the recent run up, Crypto x AI is still just sitting at ~1% of total crypto market cap. Sector could easily 10x from here as we progress through the cycle with the leading AI Infra, AI Agent Platforms and AI Agents outperforming disproportionally. Still early.” - shared Daniel Cheung on X.

With such potential levels of growth, the big question is which projects are combining Web3 and AI to build products that truly address the challenges in today’s digital ecosystem and beyond? In this article, we will highlight the top three projects that are already leveraging Web 3.0 and AI technologies to leapfrog into the future.

  1. Antix

Antix is an AI-powered software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that offers innovative solutions aimed at transforming the way digital users, companies and influencers engage with their audiences. The platform leverages advanced AI integration, including GPT-4.o support to enable users to create hyper-realistic and intelligent digital twins or digital humans to elevate interactions with other users in the digital space or customers in the case of a brand.

Everyday digital users can use the Antix platform to create more personalized digital profiles by uniquely customizing their digital human. Some of the advanced parameters featured in the customization include voice, appearance, style, and emotions.

As for companies, this SaaS AI-powered platform provides an opportunity for them to use personalized digital humans for key functions such as increasing brand awareness online as well as enhancing the accessibility and quality of customer support.

More notably, Antix features a Web 3.0 utility token dubbed $ANTIX which serves as a fundamental component in driving all the activity within its ecosystem. Users or brands looking to create their personalized digital humans can use this token to pay for the different levels of subscriptions or make asset purchases on the primary market, including repair kits, promotions, auction tickets and slots for additional customization.

This seamless combination of AI and Web 3.0 to power the next level of interaction in the digital environment is what makes Antix stand out. With over 66% of the global population online, digital profiles have evolved beyond mere data collections, they now represent fully developed personas that shape identity and drive interactions within the network.

  1. Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET)

The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET) is a partnership between three prominent decentralized AI projects, including Ocean Protocol, SingularityNET and Fetch.ai. The three entered into this collaborative arrangement on March 27, 2024 with the main goal of merging their respective utility tokens (FET, AGIX, and OCEAN) to create the largest open-source, independent platform in the field of AI research and development.

Currently, the merged token still holds the ticker $FET but is expected to transition into $ASI in the second phase of the migration into a unified ecosystem. But what exactly does each project bring into the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance open-source ecosystem?

Let’s start with SingularityNET; this AI and blockchain powered platform is the ultimate playground for researchers and developers in this space. Imagine an ecosystem where interested contributors or innovators can seamlessly share their algorithms without the need for centralized intermediaries - that’s SingularityNET. More importantly, the platform’s primary objective is to drive the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), an AI capable of matching or surpassing human intelligence.

Fetch.ai on the other hand is a decentralized marketplace for AI agents that can perform a diverse range of tasks for individuals or organizations, including decision making and problem solving tasks. Similarly, Ocean protocol also facilitates the advancement of AI innovations by introducing a decentralized marketplace where stakeholders can buy or sell tokenized data sets needed to train AI or ML models.

  1. Bittensor (TAO)

Bittensor (TAO) is another Web 3.0 AI project to keep an eye on. The project’s open-source protocol infrastructure is designed to power a decentralized machine learning network. At the core, the protocol incentivizes machine learning models to train collaboratively through its native token $TAO. This open-source approach combined with an incentive model fosters an AI marketplace that facilitates both innovators and users to interact in an open, trustless and transparent ecosystem.

It is also intriguing to observe that Bittensor’s $TAO tokenomics mirrors that of Bitcoin; the supply is capped at 21 million coins to ensure that the development and distribution of AI innovations is fairly and democratically rewarded.

The year 2024 has been particularly prosperous for this decentralized AI project, attracting the attention of notable VCs in the space, including Digital Currency Group, Polychain Capital and dao5 which have allocated millions worth of dollars in capital into the project. As of writing, $TAO ranks among the top 50 coins in market cap, with a total MC of $3 billion while the native token’s price is up almost double since the beginning of the year.

Conclusion

We’re already living in the age of Artificial Intelligence and it's more likely the world will witness more advancements in this space within the next five years more than what we’ve seen over the past decade.

At the heart of this development are complementary technologies such as Web 3.0, VR and AR; this article has highlighted some of the progress being made in the Web 3.0 intersection. With such projects already solving challenges, it will be interesting to follow what the future holds for blockchain and AI.
